As the youngest team in the U23 event, Heeley and Moir put together a strong showing against some of the Worldandrsquo;s best up-and-coming Madison riders. The pair, who trains at the ADT Event Center Velodrome in California, finished two laps down on the winning squad. The team started the week strong, winning day one while gaining two laps on the field and taking the lead in the general classification. Despite racing competitively on day two, the pair lost the lead to the Belgian team of Tosh van der Sande and Stijn Steels and found themselves trailing by seven points.... Americans conclude second round of Track World Cup in Melbourne - The second round of the 2008-09 UCI Track World Cup Classics concluded Down Under on Saturday with one American in action. Cari Higgins finished 13th in the women's keirin to conclude the efforts of the four U.S. riders representing their respective track trade teams over the weekend. Americans leave Australia with no medals, Becky Quinn's fourth-place finish in the points race being the best U.S. finish. East and Carroll are scheduled to contest two more UIV races; Munich Nov. 6-8 and Gent Nov. 18-23. The pair will also compete in the UK Revolution on Nov. 15 and several local races in Belgium before returning home to evaluate progress and build toward the future. ... Carroll and East win first day of Dortmund U23 UIV - After a seventh place overall finish at the Amsterdam UIV 3-Day, the first winter leg of the amateur series, the team of Guy East and Austin Carroll bounced back to win the first night of the Dortmund U-23 UIV three-day. The pair will contest two more days in Dortmund and try to wrap up a win in the 3-day overall before continuing on to Munich and Gent as they pursue a high ranking in the season classification for the UIV....
